Good Bit of Kit By: Mr. C. J. Wood, on December 16, 2018 Pros: Cons: "This item is essential to checking the specific gravity (and hence effectiveness) of the antifreeze in a water cooled internal combustion engine. I bought it to check that the antifreeze was okay in my narrowboat's engine and also to check the same in the boat's central heating system. I can thoroughly recommend this item for its quality and effectiveness. To quote the headline... "a good bit of kit!" |

Bulb fell off. By: RandyBoy, on August 28, 2016 Pros: Cons: "This gizmo is easy to use and works well, but the rubber bulb fell off after its first outing; the glue dissolved. Perhaps this is because my coolant is of the OATS type, which - technically - means the temperature readings won't be accurate, either. It's designed for old-style glycol antifreezes, but it's still useable for OATS. |
