Not for me..... By: JimC, on May 26, 2012 Pros: Cons: "Bought 2 of these, and they're now lying in the shed. Having tried splitting wood with them, I went back to doing it with a chainsaw or felling axe (yes, I do know about mauls). They will work (in conjunction with a large sledge hammer) but in my veiw are just not worth the effort needed to use them. I'm sure there are people who get on with wedges, but clearly I'm not one of them......perhaps if the edge had been ground more like a wedge and less like a cold chisel....? |
