Fine but not for me - a little too tinny By: Makooya, on January 13, 2016 Pros: Cons: "This is really quite small - 120mm x 80mm - so looks very neat. The electro-mechanical striking mechanism is good and it is loud and very clear. Most people would probably think it fine. However, I will not be using it as I find the chime strident and tinny. I also bought the Byron 772 at the same time which is a little less strident. Comparing the inners, the chime plates in the 771 are smaller than those in the 772, hence the tinnier sound. Somewhat Disappointing By: Roger Hooton, on August 28, 2015 Pros: Cons: "This was a disappointment as the only way of wiring it up, is from the back. That’s OK if you are drilling through a wall to the back of the unit but most people (I am sure) will need to wire it from it's: side, bottom or top. Here lies the problem: as the unit has no access points for wire from any of these areas. I would also not buy this if you live in a large house as you would be lucky to hear it upstairs etc. We are lucky we live in a small bungalow. |
