Beware B&D belts !! By: Tranquilla, on May 20, 2018 Pros: Cons: "Tool itself appears to be ok so far but only purchased in February. Belts supplied poor quality, grit is ok but lap joint tears open too easily going round such a small nose wheel. Don’t buy B&D belts, try Starke blue Zirconia version sold by Amazon, German made and they have a good reinforced lap joint. |

Sander By: GarryLad, on May 13, 2017 Pros: Cons: "Works OK fine for DIY work, The sanding belts you can buy for these can break easily, Tip glue a strip of webbing on the join at the back of sanding belt and it gives a longer lasting usage. Well worth the few minutes it takes. |

Insanely useful, very powerful, not too expensive, comes with a very small learning curve and is built to last. Highly recommend By: Balsamic, on January 12, 2017 Pros: Cons: |

Super Efficient By: London NW, Spreadsheet Guy, on April 24, 2016 Pros: Cons: "This tool is excellent....straight out of the box. it is very powerful with wood, and quickly eats through the edges you don't want. Be careful because the lowest, weakest setting is still quite strong. I used it to trim the bottom of a door that was catching on the frame.... One thing to be aware of is that it does have a minimum need for a few centimeters space to access the bottom of the door. Plan ahead to avoid the wood dust filling the room. |

Good all rounder most used tool By: Picture Fanatic, on August 9, 2008 Pros: Cons: "Hi all I really MUST say do not go by the first bad review, I have been using Black and Decker Powerfiles in all their different updates and styles for the last 20 years and it is the most used tool in my tool box. I agree with everything "Hud" (the second reviewer) said and more. what I will never understand is why the Powerfile is not more popular, I have even used it to "sculpt" shapes to suit tricky areas. If you use the variable speed and the different grits to suit the job then you should get many... |
